Start up the computer and do not connect the modem.

Open Control Panel - System - Advanced and click on the
Settings button in the Startup and Recovery (bottom) section. In the
Startup and Recovery window click on the checkbox for "automatically
restart" to clear it. Click on Apply and OK as needed to exit.

Now connect your broadband modem and click on blueyonder.
This should produce a "Blue Screen Of Death" STOP error message. The
content of the STOP message, including all of the parameters, will be
a direct clue as to the cause of the problem. Post that information
back here, or contact the support people at Blueyonder with this
information.

Good luck

What type of computer and modem is this? Have you installed the USB
drivers yet? You may need to find an updated firmware for the Modem
which can probably be obtained by asking BlueYonder (your ISP?) for help
with it. Also, if the modem has ethernet (networking) cable, I would
highly recommend using this instead of USB.

I've got the same problem through the ethernet port but the USB
connection works fine (although a bit slower). I've posted my problem
to this group but I suspect that most here actually know **** all as
I've only had two responses.

I suspect that in my case this is a power management problem. I was
going to reinstall my XP Home but your thread has made me reconsider
this. Anyway, check out the power management options for your network
card/software and have a play aroud with that. If you go the CD that
your ISP sent you you should be able to download a USB system for your
broadband provided your DSL modem is set up for this.

If you have any success let me know via this thread.

I have the same problem but I'm connected by ethernet.
Just installed xp pro on my syntax motherboard and once
the sb5100 motorola modem is connected, it seems to
restart whenever. a
