PC Problems with Win 2000 professional

My PC, I think, caught the worm. I can now get no start
menu, command prompt and the only thing I get is an error
message like this:

userinit.exe


Please tell me what I can do to restore my PC. I bought
it from someone who had it forsale online and do not have
a OS disk for Win 2000.

Is there anything I can do to get my baby back operational?

Please help.
