PC locks up - SGTRAY.EXE

Within the last month I got a new IBM laptop. Frequently
it is very slow to shut down (or locks up). I get a
message that says the SGTRAY.EXE is not responding. What
is this? How do I repair this?

Storage Guard, Veritas software, seems a fairly common problem. Discussion
