PC Keeps rebooting after installing XP SP1 update

After removing spyware with Adaware and SpyBot pc worked
fine. I downloaded and installed Windows XP SP1 update
and rebooted. Then computer was in a continuous loop of
rebooting. Ran a Windows XP repair. Tried the download
again, same thing happened (three times). Any suggestions?
