PC is beeping after installing new HDD

Ive just installed a new HDD. Now everything is ok but when I get one of those pop up messages for example if I type something in wrong, press a wrong button during an installation etc. a beep sound from my PC happens.

any ideas why this is?

Its an Hitachi 160GB IDE HDD

How many beeps do you get? This link will be helpful to you as it explains what beeps mean what here.

Make sure its all contected ok into the motherboard and HDD.

only 1 beep but thats only when a error pop up message of some sort pops up
 
We need to know what the error message is.

Could be a virus/malware warning.
 
there is no error message. its just when using pc i do something when i shouldnt it makes beep noise e.g. installing a software from cd but pressing the eject button out so it prompts to insert cd and beeps
 
Have you made sure that all the cables are connteced ok, also have you tried another IDE cable.
