Did you overclocked your CPU or any thing like this, is the Air coming out
is Hot air?.

or possibly some wires touching a the fan blade...
open it up and have a look/listen
if it's a noisy fan...replace it
thanks for your help the noise hasgone but now it just keeps shutting down now when it starts up it gets as far as the windows xp page then shuts down any ideas thanks again sher
The noise is gone because the fan as totally failed and now your computer is over-heating and the
CPU is shutting down to protect itself. Take it to a shop and get the fans replaced before you fry
the whole thing.
