PC Enclosures

PC cases remind me of the model-t when Henry Ford said, you can get any
color you want as long as it is black.

Most cases seem to be black. Some are silverish but where does one buy a
dvd with a silver cover plate?

.. . . and there even a few oddballs like pink, but on newegg, people buy
them.

However, if you want a good, well designed basic case, no doors or other
crap, not black, then the choices are nil just about, it seems.

How come pc case makers do not offer the sonata II, for example, in
different colors? Same question for other companies . . .

This is about how my current case looks:

http://www.in-win.us/products_pccase_series.php?cat_id=1&series_id=12&model_id=87

.. . . but I bought it a long time ago and mine is a full tower, no side
vents, front was a little different but close. In-win makes in a micro-atx
form factor only now.

I want to update my case and decided that no noise is very important but to
get a well designed case like that, it is back to black again.

If noise is important, I would get yourself one of these:

Yes, it has got a door, but they are dead quiet. We have two in the same
room here, and you can barely hear them.
Not to mention the fact they are very well made.

Hello,
If noise is important, I would get yourself one of these:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16811129154

There was a reveiw of that case on one of the forums like anandtech, etc.
What is on the inside of the door tho, is it kind of ad hoc sticky things or
does it look a little more professional?

Also, is the door flimsy or sturdy?

I looked through zillions of cases and the only one I found that appeals to
me (looks, not function) is:

http://www.startech.com/Product/ItemWhereToBuy.aspx?productid=ATXCASEMID&c=US

.. . . off to the right, it says the case has been replaced by:

http://www.startech.com/Product/ItemDetail.aspx?ProductId=ATX8300PRO2&c=US

.. . . which is not the ugliest I've ever seen but certainly worse looking.
I wonder why manufacturers can not make good, solid pc cases, from simple
looking to some of the weird stuff out there, and offer them in a variety of
colors?

The ventilation for the 5.25" bays looks better, though. As for one 80mm
fan - I'd prefer a 92mm fan or larger , depending on no. of HDs and graphics
cards.
