Pc doesn't wake up after hibernation

I do have a lot of problems with the hibernate and sleep function.
Since two weeks I guess I receive every time an error when starting up my
pc. Every time I need to reboot explorer.exe…
Because I’m using a dutch version of vista the error showed below is in
dutch …
Gebeurtenisnaam van probleem: APPCRASH

I think this problem is connected to my hibernate problem. When I want to
hibernate my pc, everything goes fine till the moment I want my pc to wake
up. It seems to work fine, but my screen stays as black as it was before.
(sometimes I do see my mouse, but it stays with this!) The only thing that
happens is some exchange between hd and memory (I guess). So I’m forced to
press the powerbutton for more than 5 sec to shut my pc down…
The same story happens with the sleep function. Everything goes fine till
the moment I want to wake my pc up!

I hope someone can help me because this is terrible!

Make sure you've got the latest drivers for your graphics card.

I'm sure I have the latest drivers for my graphics card because I installed
them with a dvd I received from HP (I've got my copy of vista with the
express upgrade system from HP) and the hibernate function worked (for about
a week) after I installed all the drivers. The problem came suddenly!

Can you do a System Restore to before the problem developed? You can look
back to see what got installed around the time the problem developed in the
System
Reliability and Performance Monitor. Drivers on a DVD are probably NOT the
most current as drivers are being released quite frequently. Maybe you need
to restore an older driver. (which system restore will do)
