I'm not from 2K games, and thus I cannot interpret the error that you
are seeing. However, I can report that Vista 32 and Vista 64 (on my
rig) run BioShock with ZERO issues. I'm surprised too, since there have
been no updates to date.

There is a forum dedicated to BioShock specifically (you can also try
Steampowered.com as BioShock is sold though Steam). I think those
forums would be better suited to help you than a general forum about
Vista (here).

Na, he's OK, he posted to a Vista gaming forum, I'll assume he's running
Vista, and he's having game problems. I think I can get him started before
he has to contact 2K for support help.

bink32w.dll is a video playback codec, it should come with the game, no need
to download it. If that file is causing your game to crash it's probably
some driver that Bink doesn't like, like your audio, video, or chipset
drivers.

You didn't include your video card model (Dxdiag, just the top section
doesn't include display or audio information), BUT you listed your System
Model from DXDiag, I did a search on 122-CK-NF68 and you MAY have an EVGA
motherboard with nForce 6x0i chipset, So you might just want to try updating
all your drivers.

nForce drivers can be found at www.nvidia.com, click on the download driver
link, select "nForce" for the first line, and Vista 32-bit for OS, and
whatever chipset you are actually using. You'll probably end up with v15.08
drivers.

http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_32_15.08.html

If you have an nvidia video card, get the latest GeForce drivers while
you're here.

Install them one at a time and make sure you restart if it tells you too.
After updated, try the game again.

If you get the same error try the Cult of Rapture site
(http://www.cultofrapture.com) for support.
