Is there a PC Doctor or Pcbugdoctor (Two brand names) of
maintenance programs available that are actually
worthwhile? I see issues with Norton Windoctor and would
like to find a program to fix the constant glitches that
come about in heavy PC use. Any suggestions?
Thanks!

I have been using System Mechanic for years and found it to be
one of the best utility programs you can use with Windows XP.
You may try it free for 30 days: www.iolo.com .

What, specifically, are the "constant glitches that come about in heavy PC
use" to which you refer?

They seem never ending but my current issue is this: In
Internet Explorer 6 when I try to open a good popup I get
this: "A runtime error has occurred. Do you wish to
debug?" The actual problem IS: "Error: Invalid access to
memory location." The popup comes up BLANK or just a
window pane with the underlying screen in the window that
I can move around and "blur." I've done EVERYTHING the
newsgroups, Microsoft tech site and bulletins that
remotely discuss the issue suggest and am about to have
to simply restore from the factory. I love how they
never actually provide the XP software just manufacturer
specific restore cd's. Any suggestions? Thanks,
John

If your computer is unstable, the problems seem "never ending," and you
cannot pinpoint a specific cause or causes; and you are very certain that
your computer is not affected by a virus, adware or spyware, then your only
solution is to reinstall.
