My pc died recently, and I have now got a new one. I have put the
original harddrive into the new pc as a slave and I can access all of
the data on it.

Both machines were XP Home and using Outlook 2000.

Can anyone tell me where outlook stores its data, so that I can get my
emails etc back.

Thanks in advance

There's lots of places to keep the data, depending on the setup.
Provided it is set up exactly like the old one, the location of the local
files would be here by default:
C:\Documents and Settings\jao\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
and\
C:\Documents and Settings\jao\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\
Both of those folders are hidden, so you will have to go into Windows
Explorer "Tools", "Folder Options", and check "Show hidden files and folders".

Thanks for the response. It worked, what can I say, but thanks a lot. I
found the file at C:\Documents and Settings\jao\Local
Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook\

jao was replaced with the usere name, and I renamed the outlook data
file and then copied the file from the old hard drive and bingo.

Thanks again
