PC Coming Out of Hibernation Automatically

N

Norm

For the last 2 nights in a row, I successfully put my
Windows XP Pro PC into hibernation, only to find it out
of hibernation in the morning. I did not bring it out of
hibernation; it came out of it by itself during the
night. Each time I put it into hibernation, I made sure
that it went into hibernation.

Does anyone know what might cause this and how I can
prevent it?

Hi,

There could be someone accessing the system using ethernet card/Modem. Try
disconnecting the Network cable and check again. Check for virus and install
spyware software.

Hello,

The "Resume On Time" setting in the computer's BIOS setup utility may cause
your computer to resume from the Sleep mode. To resolve the problem, follow
these steps:
1. Restart the computer.

2. To enter the BIOS setup, press the F10 key when the red Compaq logo

appears.

3. In the BIOS setup, check the "Resume On Time" feature under

the "Power" heading.

4. Disable the "Resume On Time" feature completely or adjust the

timings according to your preference.

Your computer should no longer resume from the Sleep mode before the set
timings.

Thanks,

Babuji [CCNA]
