An elderly friend of mine is getting a blue screen. I noticed that someone
installed PC Booster on his computer and he doesn't remember who did or what
it is (could have been his daughter). I will remove it, but not knowing
much about it, could someone please let me know if there are any pre or post
uninstall tasks that I should do first. Is this software something I should
be concerned about? Thank for any help you can give me.

you can likely find more info
from its homesite.

however, there is a chance that
the computer was already having
issues before that software was
installed.

perhaps, it was initially installed/
purchased to resolve issues.

so the blue screen of death may
not be attributed by that program.

to be certain, uninstall the program
since it is not from microsoft or included
in the windows operating system.

then monitor the computer for
hardware issues that may be attributing
to the blue screens of death.

for example, be sure that the network
card or modem is turned off / disabled
before the system shuts down.

sometimes if it is left on, it can cause
bsod during boot up or shut downs.

If this suspect software has its own folder under / Program Files,
the date that folder was created may be helpful, provided the
user had / System Restore set on (not off.) You might be able
to uninstal the product and the Restore the OS to an earlier date.

I would also add to do a complete spyware detection. Use MalwareByte
Anti-Malware Free and SuperAntiSpyware Free once the uninstall is
complete.
