Pausing At welcome screen on start up

Hey, when win xp starts up , gets to the screen saying welcome ... then it just stays there freezes for ages , if i press clt+alt+del it will load up and show the desktop , and also i some times get this error meassge " Paging size" somethen about my computers paging size is too big , or too small or so and so ... and ideas or help ,. to speed up the botting process ? or whats going on ? thanks

For the paging size problem...
Right click on My Computer and go to properties.
Click on the Advanced tab/ Performance, Settings/ Advanced tab/ Virtual Memory, Change.
Select the hard drive you have installed your Win XP on, choose the Costum Size and set the two numbers to be 2.5 times of your RAM. Click Set, close all your windows, and reboot your PC.
