Path & File Name in Last Page Footer ONLY

Our firm is switching from Word Perfect to Word. Our partners want the path and file name of every document to appear in a footer on the last page ONLY. Putting this information on Page 1 is not an option.

Manual placement of the path/file name is not desirable.

Putting a continuous section break on the final page, and de-selecting same as previous, doesn't work because the page's footer is associated with the first section on the page.

Placing a text box at the end of a document doesn't work because it doesn't shift to the end of the document if you add additional pages.

Changing the vertical alignment of the last page to bottom justify doesn't work mid-page either.

Any solutions?

In the footer of the last (or only) section, insert a nested field that
looks like this:

{ IF {PAGE} = {NUMPAGES} {FILENAME \p} }

This has to be built up in stages. First type all the words without the
braces. Select the word PAGE and press Ctrl+F9, then do the same with
NUMPAGES and with FILENAME \p. Finally, select the whole thing and press
Ctrl+F9, and then press F9 to update the field. It will always appear only
on the last page.

There's a complication if the document contains a page number restart,
because then the page number may never equal the number of pages. There are
some workarounds, but nothing bulletproof.

If NumPages doesn't work, you can use a PAGEREF to a bookmark placed on the
last page, but that does require some handwork.

Yes, and it also requires some care not to delete the bookmark, and to
make sure it stay on the last page if more text is added. That's why I
didn't go into detail about it.
