I have several users who are wondering if it is possible
to get the latest (last 6 months or so) security patches
and updates on a single or several CDs. Anybody know
anything about this?

Hi

You can "pre-download" updates from the Windows Update Catalog...

HOW TO: Download Windows Updates and Drivers from the Windows Update Catalog
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=323166

but this is how I would have done it:

If Service Pack 1 is not installed, you will find SP1a here (a 134 MB download,
same file for Pro and Home) under Network Installation:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/servicepacks/sp1/default.asp

Then you have the Update Rollup for XP that contains 22 updates for XP released
after SP1 in one package (do not download the express-installation version!):

Update Rollup 1 for Windows XP Is Available
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=826939

Then you should at least download these security updates released after "Update
Rollup 1":

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-041.asp
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-043.asp
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-044.asp
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/MS03-048.asp

Following which you should visit Windows Update for patches
not covered by those listed in prior post, like Media Player,
Windows Messenger, IIS, etc. and ms03-034 security patch.

Hi

Yes, it would not hurt to include MS03-034 as well. I didn't include it (and
Update Rollup 1 neither I would think) because Microsoft has defined the Maximum
Severity Rating to Low for this update (but I did write "you should at least
download" indicating that the OP should look through the other updates available
at Windows Update to see if he wanted/needed ;-)
