Pasting

If I copy a cell from different worksheet and paste, the
cell will turn black, can not read cell. If the formual
bar it will show what is in the cell. If I paste special
and only value it will work correct. If I copy from same
worksheet and past it will work correct. What is causing
this?

One thought --

check the formatting on the copied cell -- the patterns --
make it white or no fill.
