Am trying to build updateable presentations in powerpoint, but the Paste Link
option on Paste Special is grayed out. Any ideas?

It will only be available if there's something on the clipboard that can be
Linked.

What have you copied to the clipboard first?

I've noticed that you sometimes need to leave the source app open for this to
work.

In addition to Steve's comments, you must also have the source file
saved before the PasteLink option is available.
