Paste in IE6 is broken

Hi
Copy works but paste won't work using the ctrl V or the menu item 'paste'. The menu item stays ghosted even after copying. I can look into the clipboard and see the clip so it is there. Cut and paste works fine everywhere else. Anyone got any ideas, are there so hidden settings that I have missed

Is this in a form?
Are you sure the cursor is in the field where you want to paste?

Thanks for the reply, yes the cursor is in the field

where I want to paste and active and the text is in the
clipboard but paste is ghosted and the ctrl v key doesn't
work anymore.

Note that AdAware and SpyBot S & D will each catch some things the other
