Passwords?

Have a dedicated stand alone machine that has ONE program that does
nothing more than count copies from our copy machine.
It is not on the web or our office net.
It has sat for 3 years doing it's little job nicely.
It is never turned off. There are no "operators" on the machine except
about once a week we physically go to this machine
and extract what data we want on a floppy. (horrors!)
This week when we went to the machine it went into convulsions
when we tried to get our data.
We re-booted but, NOW there is a different user and password
and we are unable to get in the machine at all, even in "safe" mode
nor can we boot to DOS.
The "tech's" at the software company say it's a "windows problem".
Any suggestions as to how to get in the machine?

If this is a member server (not a DC), you might want to look at a program
called "Offline Password Editor".

That will let you change your administrator password.
