lost XP pro password

I have a stand alone XP Pro machine that I had one user working on.

That computer, when turning it on, goes stright to the user's name. We do
not know her password.

How can I remedy that?

Maybe the account is not using a password. You can check the User
Accounts applet in the Control Panel. You can either reset the users'
password or assign one, or you can choose the Advanced tab and require
that CTRL+ALT+DEL be pressed to login to the machine.

Yes, but if you don't know the account password I guess you're up the
creek one way or the other.
