I currently have Windows 2000 professional and even though the "save
password" is ticked whenever i open Outlook it asked for my server provider
password.

This also happens in explorer when i get the pop up box for username and
password i "tick" save password but next time i go to that site is asks for
my username and password again.

Any help appreciated

Thanks

Kelly

I don't know if this will help, but you never know...

First off, are you deleting your cookies

In the past, when Windows asked you if you wanted to save the password for future use did you click yes, or did you click not to have windows save or ask you again

Make sure Profile Assitant is enabled under the advanced options for Internet Explorer

Outlook should automat the connection to your server as long as Outlook has the correct information and you are running Outlook under the proper identity. Look under Tools/Accounts/Mail for a listing of your server and make sure all the information is present and correct. For example, that you have provided the correct username and password and you are pinging the correct server

Visit your server's web page and see if there is a faq or support page that will give you the information you need to enter in Outlook

Perhaps you are technically adept with Windows and Outlook and the pathetic (misunderstanding you) advice I have given you here was not helpful. I wish I knew more about the Windows and Office operating systems, then I would not need the services of this forum. I wish I could have been more helpful and hope you resolve your problem.

Thanks but all these options are as stated.....i will keep on looking
however thanks for your input it was not wasted

It's me again. One last thing I will ask: Under properties for your mail account, in Outlook, is the check box checked for save password? It's small, perhaps you overlooked it. Or perhaps not. Again, I wish you luck with your problem.
