Passwords being "stolen"

A website that I use stopped my access ( since restored ) because they
said that their software had detected " Multiple Use " of my
username/password but I am the only one to use it ..It IS " remembered"
by Windows .... Can passwords be " stolen" by something on my PC ...

Is it better not to allow Windows to retain such passwords ??

I do have Zone Alarm installed and also use Trend Micro Internet Security
and also Adaware and Spybot are run regularly....

There are trojans that can record your keystrokes. Do a full virus scan,
too. I disable both the auto-complete and and the password storage, as
hackers can gain access to these.

Does trend include a firewall and av software? You will need these, and
should probably do a full virus scan.

I'm assuming you've already scanned your system with Aaware and Spybot.

This is often an overlooked aspect of software firewalls. Not only
do you need port lock outs, but data protection as well. Anytime
data such as Social Security #, passwords, address are being sent
out from your PC you need an alert to block or allow it. The alerts
can get to be an irritant, but better safe than sorry. It doesn't take
too many pieces of your "Cyber-Identity" before somebody uses
your VISA card for a cruise or a better PC to steal with.
