,Hi!
It's me again, Kate.

I have "with your help" resolved one problem but now I am having another
password problem. When my laptop computer running Windows XP goes to
screensaver and I get back to it I have no password problem. It is when I do
not get back to it and the screensaver goes off and the computer goes to
sleep or hibernation, when I come back it will ask for a passwork. How do I
get this to stop asking for a password?

Thanks in advance for any help,
Kate

Depending on your version of WinXP:-
Right click on the desk top, select properties, select Screen Saver Tab.
Uncheck "On resume, display welcome screen."
or
Uncheck "On resume, password protect"

TaurArian's advice is where we've just been: "When my laptop... goes to
screensaver and I get back to it I have no password problem" :).

For your described problem, back in the screensaver tab click on the Power
button (or just go straight to Control Panel > Power Options). In the
Advanced tab, untick "Prompt for password when computer resumes from
standby" and OK your way back out. Does that fix it?

Uh-uh TaurArian, she has no problem after the screensaver, it's after
sleep/hibernation.

Kate, that is controlled at the /screensaver/power savings/advanced tab ->
uncheck "ask for password when resuming" (?)
(my XP is in finnish)
