The easiest way is to use a deprecated app available from start/run, type
'control userpasswords2' This utility has bug in it about 'elevation and
demotion' of users, but it will work for you about this password setting.
Uncheck the box that says 'users must enter a user name and password to use
this computer' This will start a wizard to enter your ID/pass, and enable
you to start windows without one. (Another part of that will be when the
Power Options (in control Panel) is set to return to the Welcome screen on
power off for the monitor. (screen savers often have the same setting)
