I changed my user login password on windows 2000 because I
was going away and did not want anybody to use my
computer. However, I do not remember what i changed it
to. Does anybody know how I can retrieve it?

Windows NT passwords are cryptographically hashed. You're not going to
be able to retrieve your password (unless, of course, you have millions of
modern computers working simultaneously to hash and compare passwords, or an
ASIC designed for such a purpose). You can, however, change the password
using either an Administrator user account, or by using a specialized tool
to change your NT password. Several utilities are available on the Internet
specifically for the purpose of changing NT passwords (by hashing a new
value, and patching it into your registry's Security Access Module/SAM). If
you don't have anything critically important on the drive, though, just
reinstall Windows.

You might try to reset the local Administrator
password with one of the methods mentioned here:
