Hi,
I would like to password-protect my excel file.
Upon opening the file a question for a password should be asked
before data is displayed.... is this possible??

in the SaveAs dialog open the 'Tools' menu and choose your password

File > Save As
Tools > General Options
Give and confirm passwords

But be aware that password protection is not very secure and there are
many programs out there that can open the file; quite useful when you
forget the password.
