i have had my pc upgraded. new everything. i was able to keep all my old
files ect and went from 98se to xp pro. i did not put xp on my computer.
the person who upgraded mine did it for me. i know my system inside and out
but this has really confussed me. everything was fine but now i get
"password will expire in 14 days" when i log on. the count down continues as
the days go by. this happened before so i did a system restore and now one
month later it is back. i have never set a password before in 98 or xp. i
am the administrator. there are no other accounts on my computer. no one
uses the computer but me. how do i fix this without setting a password?

Run the Computer Management console (compmgmt.msc) and navigate to the
"Local Users and Groups -> Users" tree node. Change the properties of
your account so the password never expires. This affects only your
local logins. If the problem is with a domain login then contact your
domain admin.

Why don't you wait for 14 days and see what will happen?

i run the "compmgmt.msc" and the administrator was already set for "password
never expire" but not for my name under 98se. change it, restarted and no
more expiration. thanks so much!
