Password requested at front screen, but never set one up...

I reimaged the laptop 3 times and everytime it prompts me for a password at
the log-in screen. I never set up a password. I tried logging in Safe Mode
and the administrator password is not "blank" as stated in another article.
I get the following error "The system cannot log you on due to the following
error: The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted".

What is this referring to???

I suspect that your laptop was at some stage connected
to an office domain. You now need to ask your network
administrator for a local account name & password.

These refer to the network domain that that laptop was part of. If you
want to log into it with it disconnected from the network, you have to log
into a local account. Talk to your IT people. There should be a local,
non-domain account for you to use when not connected to that network.

Is this laptop new to you, do you not use it on a domain?
