Can anyone tell me how to restore a corrupted password registry on a Win XP
system? I am unable to save passwords and am told it's because the registry
is corrupted. Thanks for your help.

Passwords? As in changing the account's password? Something to do
with IE? More info required.

In Outlook Express, I am asked for a password each time I launch the
program. I have checked the "Save Password" box and the check appears
(grayed) in the box, but I still have to enter the password each time. Tech
support for Verizon said the password registry was corrupted and told me to
call HP tech support, who said they would charge $40 to help. Before paying
the $40 I thought I would try to find the answer for free!

Since my earlier message I tried saving a password for entering an Internet
site, and that worked, so Verizon may have mis-diagnosed the problem.
