I had a problem with a password locking me out of XPHE. I was lucky in that
the computer was duel booted and I had backuped the XP partition so could
reinstall. I am interested in a Password Recovery Disk. MS's instructions
for one refer to a floppy rather than a CD. Is it possible to create one on
a CD????

No.

Create a second administratove user and set their password to one you will
not forget (or store it in a safe place) so that if you ever get locked out
of your main account - you can still get into the machine (and even change
the other user's password to one you know.)

You use XP Home Edition - so no need to worry about EFS.

You could create the diskette and possibly make a bootable CD out of it
afterwards..

Thanks for the reply. Just one more question--I have a laptop that does not
have a 3 1/2" floppy drive installed. If I were to use a 3 1/2" floppy drive
through the USB port and create the Password Recovery Disk there, would it
work through that drive if needed???
