Password protected document

Hi - I am the document owner of a Word in form format. I haven't used it it
over 2 years. I cannot remember the password to make a change. How can I
override it without recreating the doc?
 
You can't override without recreating, but you can recreate relatively
easily.

Create a new document. While in that document use Insert>File and insert
your old form.

You may have to adjust / recreate your margins, headers & footers.
