Password problems with Outlook

I ran REGEDIT and attempted to remove the
HKeyCU/software/microsoft/Protected Storage
System Provider/ s-1-5-21... folder.
Folder and key can't be modified or deleted! Received Error "Can not
delete" and Error writing to the registry. But it only applies to this one
key. Not any other.
Any other idea for getting the passwords to stick?
 
Did you have Outlook and all other programs closed when you tried this.
 
Yes, all programs were closed. Thank you for asking.
I just tried again and it says "Can not delete s-1-5-21-403568386.....:
Error while deleting key".
 
Did you try going into the Registry by typing regedt32 -
there you can modify the permissions to particular keys
to allow yourself permission to delete various and sundry
keys.
