My old PC is dying. The latest issue is that the computer refuses to
recognize the hard drive. Everything is still OK with the drive since my new
PC can view it as a slave. It just will not boot up the old PC. I get a
drive error. What makes it worse it that I know I can get on the drive by
booting off the Windows CD, but the PC will not recognize the keyboard
(nothing registers when I press F11 and DEL).
Now the problem... There is still information on that old drive that I would
like to get. When I make it a slave on the new PC, I cannot view my personal
folder in the "Documents and Settings" folder; my access is refused. I am
pretty sure that this has something to do with the password that I had on
Windows on that old PC.
How can I get to this information? I either need a fix to the access issue
or I need to get the old PC to recognize the USB keyboard.
