Password Policy

I am setting up a password policy in my company. From what I've read about
this, it can only be done on the Domain level. My question is, what about the
system accounts like Administrator, will that password also have to be
changed every x days? We also have a few other accounts where the password
can't be changed. How do I block the password policy from going onto these
OU's?

Password policy doesn't effect accounts that are configured to never change password.

There are also third party programs available that will allow you to manage
features not available in Windows. Example look up Password Policy
Enforcer, there are many others but that is what we use.

Hi

It's not regarded as good practice to choose a password policy and then not
enforce it everywhere. If you have one account that has a short,
non-complex password, it's the account that's going to be hacked.

If you have service accounts that you don't want expiring unexpectedly, you
can set the passwords to never expire but it's worth your while to having a
planned manual password change so that they don't become the weak link.

Kind regards
