Password Manager

I know I should probably post this on Symantec's site, but I waited over 5
hours to chat with one of their reps and never got through so I decided to
come here.

My computer operating XP recently crashed. I've bought a new PC with Vista
Premium installed. I installed AVG for virus protection and use Windows
Defender for anti-spyware.

Before my crash, I used the Norton Password Manager which seemed to work OK
for transaction security and liked the convenience of the autofill feature.
Now that Norton has changed Password Manager (which does not work with Vista)
and calls it Norton Confidential, I figure I have lost access to my 200 plus
stored passwords. My questions are this:

1) Does anyone know if I buy the new Norton Confidential, will I be able to
utilize all of my old passwords that were created in Norton Password Manager?

2) Do I need other Norton products to run Norton Confidential?

3) Does anyone know the reliability of this product? I have browsed forums
and the feedback I see is that it doesn't work so well. Are there other
products out there that would accomplish what I am trying to do?

Any suggestions or thoughts would be most appreciated. Thanks!

When you say that the XP crashed, that doesn't necessairly mean that it is
dead. My wife had an e-Machine with XP and it crashed about 2 weeks ago. I
could smell smoke and the computer wouldn't turn on. It was dead. I removed
the case and the hard drive and switched it with the hard drive from another
computer. All the data was recovered. So, it is only dead if the hard drive
has failed. The power supply had failed and took out the motherboard. My
wife bought an HP with Vista. She likes it and I don't. Also never give away
or sell an old computer with the hard drive in it unless it has been erased
and reformatted. I bought an old computer once for $6 at a thrift store and
it has a familys tax return on it. I am honest so I deleted everything. An
identity thief would have had a gold mine.

I should clarify "dead" to mean a fried motherboard and power supply, but I
was able to save the hard drive and data. Any experience working with Norton
Confidential and how it works with Vista?
