PASSWORD INFORMATION

I just upgraded my computer to Windows XP Home Edition and
when I reboot the computer it asks me for a password for
my username which I have never had or setup how do I
bypass this I cannot hit esc it does not work and the it
does not ask me for any hint information or anything
either. What do I do now it took me 2 hours to get it all
installed and put the new C drive in and now it wont let
me go any further. I need help I am going crazy.
