Password HELP!

Wes

Hello. I have a 2007 Access database I have been using for about 3
years. I recently tried to compact & repair and the database asked
for a password. I entered the password but it said it was invalid. I
closed and reopened, and the password worked. I tried to go in and
reset the password, but it is saying it is invalid when I try to
change it. So I can use the password to open the database but not to
change the password. Anyone know how I can fix this?

Thanks very much for any help.

The situation you describe certainly smells of database corruption
somewhere. If you are lucky, you are using a split database and it's only
the client database application, not the database with tables, that is
corrupted.

If you search sufficiently, you can find a free application that will break
security on Access DBs up to 2003. I haven't looked at the situation since
2003 came out, so don't know if it works on 2007 or 2010. And, no, I'll
acknowledge it exists, but I don't give out the link to it.
