Our password for log on expired and we failed to renew it. Now we cannot get
logged on either the one ID or the Administrator ID. We cannot recall if we
ever set a password for the Administrator ID. Anyway to bypass or to at least
access windows to change the password?
Have tried using the safe mode but will not let us through???

Passwords Expired, means you have allowed the "Password" to expire (run-out
of time).
Now that you have allowed the "Password" to expire, you are not AUTHORIZED
to use the computer anymore.
Good Day

Thanx Rattleon, but I am still in the dark. What is the life of a password?
Is it a period of time or a number of uses? Who decides it? Is it a default
on the computer? I wabnt to avoid some of the traps on password setting that
so many new users seem to fall into. Could I set just one, to cover the
Log-on at startup, and use the same for the screen-saver? That would make me
the Administrator, yes? My manuals give conflicting information.

The "Life" of a password is variable depending on the setting as to the
number of days it is set for in the "Local Security Policy" (in the
Administrative Tools) under account policies.
( if you want, email me for details)
(e-mail address removed)
remove the NOSPAM first
