Password Difficulty

For the first time, Windows XP is asking for a password
for the user accounts, but no passwords have ever been
set up. We've had the computer a little over a year &
have never used a password. We have no password to
enter. Everything on Windows site tells you how to reset
password from control panel but we cannot access that
either. We've tried hitting help and the pop-up that
says "Did you forget your password" but nothing will
happen. Obviously we must have a password to get help --
the ultimate Catch 22. Any suggestions would be greatly
appreciated. Replies can be to ProfMeadows(removethis)

Try leaving the password blank.
