Partly framed logo in presentation

I have stumbled across a few presentations now (Office 2007 I believe) where
the company logo image shows up with a black line on the left side and at the
bottom. Like half a frame.

Anyone knows why or has seen this?

Thanks in advance

Is it a PNG file that has transparency? If so, my first guess is
less-than-perfect implementation of the alpha channel, the geeky function
that is responsible for transparency. I see that a lot. Also bad
anti-aliasing, another geeky concept from the graphics world.

I assume that these unwanted lines show up around the perimeter of the
rectangular shape, not over the logo itself, right? If so, a little snip
with the Crop tool would take care of it. The more permanent solution would
be to haul that graphic back to a competent image-editing application and
reapply the transparency.
