Hi, I have win xp sp2. Quetion is this. When I first installed the xp I
partitioned the hd. The " c drive' is maxed and I either need to eliminate
the partitions or reformat. If I reformt I do not believe that sp2 is
availiable any more. Is there certain files that I shound save to re
installed after re installing xp or would something else be better way of
doding it.
Thanks

SP2 is still available. You can get it via Windows Update.

Sound s like you need a bigger HDD also.
Do you have Win XP SP2 CD or is SP2 a download?
Either way it is still available for download if needed or you can get MS to
mail SP2 CD for free with "zero" postage even.

I downloaded sp2. I have a 40 gig hd but when I partitioned it I did it in
10's not realizing that xp took up so much space. I thought of another part
of this. i had a selective start up check and some how it got back to a
normal startup. Is there somewhere that I can see what each of the start up
items are so that I can understand more or what is really need to have start
up and what is not so important?

That would only serve to free up RAM and not hard drive space.

Why not slipstream your XP disk with sp2 so sp2 will install as XP is
installed. There a free program called Nlite that does a very nice job of
this.

!- where do I get this nlite program and how do I use it? Does it get the sp2
off of the internet as it works or what?
2- thanks for the it only does ram and not hd reply , that helps.
and where do I send for the sp2 disc for future unexpected needs?

Thanks for the links. I ordered the cd. I am also looking at the other site
and it looks very promising. Thanks
