If you have a one (1) partition drive, there is really no
requirement to repartition it. Some folks, however, wish
to partition their drive in order to add an addition
operating system or to install programs or files on
a separate partition apart from the operating system
partition.

If Windows XP is currently installed, the easiest way
to partition your drive is by using a third-party program,
such as Partition Magic.
