partition table corrupted

hi,
i moved my maxtor hd from a windows 2000 computer to a win
xp computer to transfer some files. win xp could not read
the drive and after moving the drive back to the win 2000
computer i can't read the drive there either. the drive
shows up in the disk manager but it tells me that the
drive is not formatted in the explorer.
any ideas?
