Partition size

I have two partitions on my hard drie C: and D: Everytime i go to install
new software it wants to but in on the D: partition and i can't change the
option to install on the C: partition. My D: partition is full. Any
suggestions.

Every time I install software I opt for Custom Install and then I usually
have the option of installing it where I want.

Is Windows itself on C: or D:?
