I have drive C: with everything on it and only 2 gigs left
Drive D: has nothing on it and about 18 gigs of space
Is there any way to go back to using only one drive?

Doug

You can use a program like Acronis Disk Director or Partition Magic to
re-arrange partitions.. backups are imperative before using either of them..

Or you can move documents, pictures, music to D: and point saves by programs
to folders resident on D:

BACKUP EVERYTHING FIRST!

Use QTParted
http://www.sysresccd.org/

1. Download the SystemRescueCD ISO image
2. Burn it.
3. Disable your Windows virtual memory.
4. Reboot
5. Defrag 3 or 4 times until you get enough space at the end.
6. Reboot.
7. Boot from the CD. (everything gets automagically configurated.)
8. Run qtparted
9. Resize your NTFS partition.
10. Reboot into Windows.
11. You're done.

You did BACKUP EVERYTHING FIRST, right?!

It's probably better, if possible, to add a new platter altogether

New disks are pretty inexpensive and easy to add, though if in any doubt
I am sure a local 'pooter shop will be pleased to help

Can you confirm the size of each disk and amount of free space each has.
Are the drives formatted as FAT32 or NTFS?

Right click on your My Computer icon on your Desktop and select
Properties, System Restore. What is the Status for each drive listed?
How much disk space is allocated to System Restore?

Try Disk CleanUp for each User Profile to remove Temporary Internet
Files. Also select Disk CleanUp, More Options, System Restore to remove
all but the latest restore point.

Do you have files / folders that might be moved to the other partitions?

To move programmes use Add / Remove Programs in Start, Control Panel,
Add / Remove Programs to uninstall programmes. Create a Programs
Directory on your other partition and reinstall there.

Some other notes you may find useful.

Create a My Documents folder in another partition and copy ( not move )
the contents of My Documents to your new folder. Then delete the files
in your My Documents folder ( if you encounter problems deleting use
Shift + Delete to bypass the Recycle Bin ). You will also need to
change Default File locations in the Microsoft Office programmes you
use. For Word go to Tools, Options, File Locations, highlight Documents,
click on Modify and change file path. For Excel go to Tools, Options,
General and change default file path.

For Temporary Internet Files select Start, Control Panel, Internet
Options, Temporary Internet Files. Settings, Move Folder.

To move the Outlook Express Store Folder select in Outlook Express
Tools, Options, Maintenance, Store Folder, Change.

What tool did you use to create the partitions?

FileSize -a useful tool for use with Windows Explorer when investigating
how disk space is being used.

The download link is not obvious. Click the here in the two sentences of
the web page accessed through the link above.
"I can't count the number of times someone has asked for this. So here
is a module you can install that shows a Folder Size column in
Explorer."

Hope this helps.
