Thanks Pegasus, I'll have a look at the links that you provided.
My backup startegy:
1. Use file server to save backup of production PCs
2. Use external media to have permanent backup (CDs do it for me)
3. Have temporary store to hold backup data
(#3 is a bit odd, sometimes I need to restore the CD data to
make modifications to it, such as deleting or adding files,
changing the file structure, etc, so I get the data from the CD,
make the changes and write back to CD. This is mostly for
archival data so that it is easy to find as more is added.)
Addendum to backup strategy:
4. Never mess with the PC where the temporary data
is located! ;-)
Although I technically didn't lose any data, I did lose
hours of work restructuring the file system, so I would
like to get that back so I can write it to CD.
