Partition Commander 8

bm

I have not been able to find a group which deals with Partition Commander so
I am trying here.
I have used PC successfully for a number of years but recently I had to
reinstall my system and when it came to PC I got as far as arriving at the
first control panel and |I found that the mouse was stationary and refused
to move. Alternatively I got to the page which was controlled by letters
and not the mouse and again refused to be operated by this means.
Can anyone spot what the fault is please?

unfortunately, those programs
are unreliable because they
require to be kept up to date
by their makers,

especially when windows is
updated.

so you might be fortunate
that PC did not run because
it might have caused an
ntfs crash.

-----------------------

my recommendation is to
use the Acronis Disk Director.

it has proven absolutely
reliable.

-------------------------

however, there are others
available like:

http://www.partition-tool.com/personal.htm

but I haven't tried it or
tested it.

it is simply an option and
a suggestion for you to
consider.

Hi Blair,

Does this software reboot using DOS or another OS? If so, the USB ports
may not be recognized. I used Partition Magic for years without any
issues (in a DOS partition) because I used a PS2 mouse. When I changed
to a USB mouse, it didn't work any longer. But using the keyboard isn't
all that difficult.

If you're using a USB mouse, try a PS/2 mouse. If you're using a PS/2 mouse,
try a serial mouse.

Partition Magic works perfectly with a USB mouse.

Sounds like you need to activate "legacy support" for your USB connected
mouse and keyboard in the bios settings to me.

Partition Commander 6 and 8 are no longer supported by vcom.

I'm still using System Commander 7.05. Needs a dos based OS, up to Windows
Millenium, to install in. Boots XP fine. Its embedded Partiton Commander
works okay there as well from boot time with USB mouse and PS/2 keyboard.
Mouse works in it as well.

Speak for yourself. It doesn't here. I only report my experiences.
