partial wireless file sharing

even reading through other peoples problems on here i can't figure this out.
i am running a desktop with XP pro SP2. it is connected to router through
ethernet. i have a new laptop with xp home wirelessly connected to router.
both computers get full internet access, and i have full drives shared, but
neither can see the other at all. i'm not sure what exactly i need to check
here, can someone help me out please?

also check to make sure windows firewall is allowing file and print sharing

thanks that helped me figure it out, i didn't have netbios activated over my
wireless connection on my laptop, i had it over ethernet for both, so i
thought i was fine, but i finally caught it.
