Paragraph break at top of page

Grainne

Hi there. I know Word has a feature to recognise that following a paragraph
break that places a paragraph at the top of the next page, it deletes the
extra line between paragraphs so tthat he new paragraph appears at the top of
the next page and not one line down. Sometimes this doesn't work - is there a
fix for this other than just manually deleting the extra line? Thanks, Gráinne

Word will suppress extra space at the top of a page after a "soft" page or
column break; it will not suppress it after a manual page break, manual
column break, or section break. There is a Compatibility Option to suppress
extra space after a hard page or column break, but not after a section
break.

All of the above applies only to Spacing Before applied to a paragraph; it
does *not* apply to empty paragraphs used to create a "blank line"
(WordPerfect does that, but not Word), which is one of many good reasons for
not using empty paragraphs this way.
